Golden Valley Llamas has gone to a County show outside its normal area of Herefordshire and the Welsh borders and been awarded the Supreme Championship and Reserve Championship.
There are approximately 4000 llamas in the UK and shows where they may compete in show classes are limited to a handful and most of these are in the South East. However, Amanda Huntley and Robert Dewar of Golden Valley Llamas attended the North Somerset Agricultural show on Bank Holiday Monday and walked away with a handful of rosettes.
Golden Valley Hetty Pegler, a 21-month old female, was the outright winner and Golden Valley Marden, at just 10 months, came second. Amanda and Robert will now attend the National Llama Show to be held at Newbury in September.
The llamas are always available for llama trekking from their base in South West Herefordshire, but also like to attend events and functions throughout the WyeValleyandForest of Dean.
