Authentic sedan chair which will start the Charity Sedan race

The Ross Lions are seeking teams to take part in their Charity Sedan Chair Race to be held at the Georgian celebration event ‘On the Way to the Wye’ on June 18 in Ross on Wye.

The race will raise money for the Lions charitable causes and will be an added attraction at the Georgian themed day organised by the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the Overlooking the Wye Partnership Project.

Entries are free for teams in four classes Adult/Over 18’s,14-18 yrs, under 14 and nursery – 5 yrs and under. Competitors will race for cash prizes and trophies for their association, organisation, school, or group. Each team will construct a simple sedan chair and decorate it to their own theme, the wackier the better, and race a course on the Caroline Symonds Gardens at Ross.

There will also be prizes awarded to Best Designed and Constructed Sedan Chair, Best Dressed Team and Funniest Sedan Chair
