Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust are holding a sponsored Walk 4 Wildlife on Sunday 13th May 2012 through the Forest of Dean.  The walk celebrates our new Heart of the Forest Wildlife Walk passing through two of our very special nature reserves and will be led by Mike Dilger from BBC TV’s The One Show.

This five mile circular walk will start and finish at The Speech House Hotel in the centre of the Forest of Dean. It will take you through a range of habitats, from heathland to pond areas and grassy rides, and many varied woodland types including sweet chestnut coppice and mature veteran trees of oak, chestnut and beech.

There is no minimum sponsorship but we ask teams to try to raise as much as you can and everyone who completes the walk will receive a special Walk 4 Wildlife medal.

Dogs are very welcome to join in the fun and will receive their own Walkies 4 Wildlife sponsorship form and a Walk 4 Wildlife dog tag on making it to the finish line!

We’re planning a great day, including children’s entertainment, live music and refreshments – and want the whole community to get involved!

  • Adults £8.00 or £10 on the day

  • Families £20.00 (2 adults, 2 children) £24 on the day
