Ros Robertson and Caroline Anderson receive Forester Tourism Business of the Year award

On Thursday 24th April, Co-Chairs of Wye Valley & Forest of Dean Tourism Association Ros Robertson and Caroline Anderson were guests at a glamorous and prestigious dinner and award ceremony at Forest Hills Golf Club near Coleford to be presented with the Tourism Business of the Year Award for 2014. The award reflects the success WVFDTA is having in promoting tourism in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean area.

The Award ceremony is sponsored by the Forester Newspaper and the beautiful engraved glass trophy and certificate was presented by the Director of Lydney accountants, Wildin & Co.

Speaking at the event, Co-Chair, Ros Robertson said: “It is really important to us to get this Award. It is great for the morale of those that work in the Association and also reflects the fact that although we are essentially a voluntary organisation we are also a business of some significance in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. It should give great reassurance to our growing membership of over 400 tourism businesses that others recognise the quality of the services that we deliver. The award also reflects the success of the partnership arrangements that we have been steadily building with both the Forest of Dean District Council and Monmouthshire County Council.”

Congratulations must also go to WVFDTA members who were Award finalists or winners in several of the other business categories: including Tudor Farmhouse Hotel, The Speech House Hotel, International Birds of Prey Centre, The Red Hart Inn at Blaisdon, Wilton Court Restaurant with Rooms and the 3 Shires Garden Centre.
