New Motorway Services for Gloucestershire

Preparations to open the new Gloucester Services on May 7

Preparations to open the new Gloucester Services on May 7

The UK’s newest motorway services opened today (7 May) in Gloucestershire.  Gloucester Services is on the northbound lane of the M5 between junctions 11a and 12.  Forget limp lettuce and stodgy puds, this is quite different. Gloucester Services is not just another motorway service area. It is the sister of the well-known Tebay Services in Cumbria, Britain’s favourite service station and it has no franchises. Instead it offers an oasis of homemade food and local artisan produce; all the suppliers are from the South West and 130 are within a 30 miles radius of the services, including from the Forest of Dean. If you are travelling North on the M5, make your stop at Gloucester Services and visit the Farm Shop and the kitchen, we think you will enjoy it.  Whilst you are there pick up a copy of our latest Attractions Guide and also our popular Eating Out Guide.  Next time, plan your journey to include a visit to us to see what the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean has for you!

The new services on the northbound M5 aptly named Gloucester Services Farm Shop and Kitchen is a must to stop at. There are fantastic facilities for caravanners, lorry drivers and car drivers. The food and drinks are extremely competitively priced, and that does not mean that they are expensive, because they’re not. It’s a breath of fresh air to stop at these Services, very continental, so much so that you could spend half a day there, especially when they have all the parkland walks completed for nature lovers and dog walkers too. This Service Station puts all the others to SHAME. Miss visiting it at your peril.
