14th-22nd June – Hereford Walking Festival!

The Hereford Walking Festival kicks off tomorrow with events running through the whole week. Dig out those old walking boots and join in!

Here are some of the highlights from the jam-packed programme

Sat 14th – 10.00-2.30 Wyevale Wanderings 

Tracks, lane and footpaths around the parishes of Breinton and Stretton Sugwas

Distance: 8 miles

Cost: Adult £5, child free

 

Monday 16th – 9.00-4.00pm Hunt the Dragon

Catch the but to Tarrington returning through fields, forest tracks and quiet lanes. Join the Mordiford Loop walk with its tale of dragons and finally take the Wye Valley Walk into Hereford

Distance: 14 miles

Cost: Adult £5.00, child free

 

Wednesday 18th June – 6:00-8.30pm An Evening in Paradise Valley

Walk through the stunning scenery of locally-named Paradise Valley, through woodlands and farmland, calling in to visit historic Lower Sapey Church. Some short slippery sections if wet!

Distance: 5 mile

Cost: Adult £5.00, child free

Sunday 22nd – 12.15-4.15pm The Wye Tour

Meet Les Lumson and Mike Ledlie, authors of Border Walks, who will talk about mills, hills and manors en route from Kerne Bridge to Ross-on-Wye. The ramble follows the Wye Valley Walk for the most part with one steep climb up Chase Hill

Distance: 6 miles

Cost: Adult £5.00 child free
