Places to stay, things to do, good food and drink
This September make sure you take a trip out to the Forest of Dean to take a look at exquisite paintings by Mary Edwards in a special art exhibition.
From the 6th of September until the 12th of October Mary Edwards will be showcasing her latest paintings at Taurus Crafts, Lydney, Forest of Dean.
Mary was born in the great industrial city of Coventry and spent most of her life in the country on the Welsh borders of the Wye Valley.
Her paintings are intensely nostalgic, though still contemporary and show a view intriguing view of life. The aptly name collection of paintings, Memories Are Made Of This, are considered to be rustic snapshots of a way of life that many people think are long forgotten.
She says of her paintings: “They reflect the small moments of time from happy memories and imagination that have been part of my life for more years than I care to remember.”
“I sometimes pinch myself thinking how lucky I am to be a painter – every day is a new day full of expectation for the magic that painting can bring – when all goes well, and with the knowledge that I can never be bored, there is always so much to see, do and think about.”
Make sure you take a trip out to Taurus Crafts and enjoy a day of art and outdoors!
