Just over 18 months ago Chepstow Walkers are Welcome won the bid to host the Walkers are Welcome Annual Get Together, the first town in Wales to do so. Chepstow beat 8 other towns to host the event on the 18th and 19th October 2014.

Walkers and Delegates will attend the 2 day event which will be opened by the Town Mayor of Chepstow followed by workshops; Designing walks for the Visually Impaired, Walks with Wheels, Media and PR and Generating Income which will be hosted in venues around the town. Dependant on their availability, SARA Life and Rescue will be giving a display down at the riverside. The day will be rounded off by evening festivities at St Pierre, Marriott Hotel & Country Club including a performance from Chepstow Male Choir and a Ceilidh. Tickets are available at £28.50 pp for the evening event only.

Sunday activities will be taken up by the AGM with guest speakers and a presentation by Sidmouth the host town for 2015. A highlight of the day will be the unveiling of a Walkers are Welcome Commemorative Wall Hanging, a project devised by Chepstow Walkers. Eventually it is hoped that each accredited town or village will contribute a creative square representing their town.

Robin Craine, Chair of Chepstow Walkers are Welcome said “This is a great opportunity for the town’s residents and businesses show case everything that Chepstow has to offer.”
