Celebrate England and Wales Tourism Week with free events and incredible offers from local businesses in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean!
Running from 14th-22nd March, the crossover of English Tourism Week and Wales Tourism Week is set to be an exciting celebration of the very best that WyeDean has to offer. As a region that spans the English/Welsh borders, we’re ready to celebrate the best of both countries!
Visitors will have the opportunity to sample exciting local attractions and activities for free, whilst taking advantage of an array of discounts and offers, many of which can apply to bookings for future stays.
‘‘We look forward to celebrating all that is great about tourism in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley during English and Wales Tourism Week – I’m absolutely delighted with the range of offers we’re promoting’ said Maureen McAllister, Executive Director for the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism Association.
The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley will also be welcoming the winner of the National Geographic Kids prize to the area, which includes a short break and lots of activities to enjoy.
“It’s great that the prize is being taken during English and Wales Tourism Week,” said Fiona Wilton, owner of Monmouthshire Cottages, who donated the prize and holds the title of VisitWales’ National Tourism Awards Finalist for Best Visitor Welcome.
She added, “The icing on the Tourism Week cake for us will be hearing if we have won gold, silver or bronze for our Welcome at the VisitWales Tourism awards on the 25th March – watch this space.’

14th – 15th Introduction to canoeing with Way2go Adventures
14th – 22nd Free vineyard tour and wine tastings at Parva Farm Vineyard
15th Free entry to Sculpture Gardens featuring a free watercolour painting demonstration from resident artist Alex Brown in the Oak Ballroom.
17th – 21st Brewery Tour & 15% Discount on Ales at Kingstone Brewery
18th ‘Meet the Buyer’ – Best of local produce event from WyeDean in Whitemead Forest Park
19th Free Nordic Walking Taster Sessions with Way2go Adventures
20th Free Golf Day at Forest of Dean Golf and Bowls Club
22nd Free ride on steam railway at Dean Forest Railway
Many restaurants are offering discounts on meals, such as from 50% off pub meals at the Old Court Hotel, The Tudor Farmhouse Hotel are offering 20% off all food and drink purchased between 12noon and 2pm during the week, whilst many businesses will apply discounts to any future bookings made during the week, such as Mad Dogs and Vintage Vans Glamping, Dean Valley Panorama B&B, Greenway Farm Camping & Caravan Park and photography courses on the river from Way2Go adventures.
