Mother’s Day Ideas in Dean Wye

Mother’s Day is quickly approaching, and we’re guessing the regular old chocolate and flowers is getting a bit old. Do something different this Mother’s Day with The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley:

  1. Take mum to dinner on the Royal Forester dining train. For £39.50 each, you can take her on an all day trip and treat her to a three-course meal. Tables for two and four are available.
    .
  2. For the mothers with younger children, free Mother’s Day photos are being taken at Puzzlewood for mothers and their children up to 18 years of age!

  3. Treat her to Sunday Lunch at Whitemead Forest Park. For £15.95pp, enjoy a three-course lunch with a special gift from Whitemead.
    .
  4. Set up a workshop for her at the Potter’s Wheel from 28-29 March from 10am-4pm. For one day, it’ll be £120, and £215 for the weekend.

Give her a cooking lesson with Harts Barn Cookery School with their “Chocolate Dreams” or “French Macaroons” workshops.
    .

  6. Get into the Sculpture Gardens at Wyncliffe Court free of charge on 15th March. A trip here would feature a watercolour demonstration by resident artist Alex Brown.

  7. While we’re talking about watercolour, give your mum a one to one with professional artist Mariana Robinson at Mariana-Art Gallery and Studio. For £70, you get a half day beginner’s course and a full day for £120.
    .
  8. Visit Parva Farm for the free tour and wine tasting from 14-22 March. While this is part of the Tourism Week celebrations, it’s still a good place to bring mum for a bit of relaxing.
    .
  9. Taking place alongside Mother’s Day weekend is the Kempley Daffodil Weekend. Festivities include refreshments, guided walks, plant stalls, home produce, and daffodil bus rides. The perfect place for a mother with green fingers.
    .
    .
  10. Or for something really fancy, you could always take her for a meal at our Michelin Star wonders: The Walnut Tree or The Crown at Whitebrook! .

So there you have it – take your mum on a fun filled trip this Mother’s Day!
