Giant Cat Maze in maize field in the Forest of Dean

Every year Elton Farm in the Forest of Dean, situated between Littledean and Westbury on Severn, plants a filed of maize in April, growing to full height in mid-July when a maze is cut.  The theme for 2015 is Wild and the picture above shows

  • A giant cat measuring 200m x 200m
  • A wild rose (bottom of the picture)
  • A small tortoise (centre right)

The three Maize Mazes along with the Activities Maze provide a challenge for families during the Summer Holidays.   The Mazes have Look Out Towers, Quizzes and Hidden Objects.  The Activities Maze has many activity areas, motion sensors and water squirt quiz boxes.

The Maize Mazes are open from mid July to early September (10.30 to 17.30)

  • They are suitable for all ages.
  • They are pushchair friendly.
  • Dogs are allowed in the Maize Mazes.
