Lyndon Edwards, an organic dairy farmer from Chepstow has been announced as the deserving recipient of the Dairy Ambassador of the Year award at this year’s Cream Awards, which were held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham. In addition to the farm, Lyndon, a member of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism Association, runs the successful Hanley Farm Shop.
The judges commended Lyndon’s achievements in the dairy industry and acknowledged the significant work he does to support dairying in the UK.
Lyndon, who oversees all farm and business activities at his 670 acre organic dairy farm outside Chepstow on the Gloucestershire / Monmouthshire border, is well-known in the dairy industry, having held a vast range of senior positions on leading bodies.
“Lyndon is a remarkable asset to the dairy industry and is a strong example of a dynamic, innovative and successful dairyman,” says Nicholas Saphir, OMSCo executive chairman. “He is passionate about the industry, both conventional and organic, and works tirelessly in local, national and international roles that ensure he represents British agriculture in a positive, successful and creative light.
Lyndon is also Chairman of the Dairy UK farmer’s forum; Chairman of the Action Group for Johne’s; Board member of Dairy UK; Board member of the Dairy Council and Board member of the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers.
