Returning to Gloucestershire this year is the biggest cycle race in Britain – however this time, the Forest of Dean & Wye Valley are included on the route!
This premier road cycling event returns on Thursday 8th September and stage five of the tour will pass through the area, via the Wye Valley at Brockweir, St Briavels, Blakeney, Soudley, Cinderford and Littledean before heading onto the A48 and Gloucester.
In 2014, the race sped through the Cotswolds and Stroud, gathering crowds in their thousands to see the star-studded peloton including Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish.
Mark Bennett, Tour of Britain Race Director, said “In 2014 the Tour of Britain passed briefly through Gloucestershire with great crowds lining the route, and we hope to see the same again this time.”
