WVFDTA Member, Rachel Shilston wins prestigious award!

Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism Association member and founder of Inspiring Creativity, Rachel Shilston won the prestigious Creative Woman of the Year Award at a glittering awards ceremony, courtesy of the Gloucestershire Women of the Year Awards.

Held at the Cheltenham Racecourse in Gloucestershire on Thursday 16th June 2016 the Gloucestershire Women of the Year Awards celebrates the extraordinary women of the county. A total of 11 winners were recognised for their achievements, including Chepstow based artist, Rachel Shilston.

Rachel set up Inspiring Creativity in 2010 to provide quality art workshops in the Forest of Dean and Gloucestershire. Since then the business has grown incredibly and Rachel now works with people of all ages and abilities as well as local organisations including Cinderford Artspace, Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail, Hart’s Barn Cookery School and even the Forestry Commission.

Rachel, who has enjoyed being creative ever since she was a child, said “When I was awarded ‘Creative Woman of the Year’ it really was pretty special. I was delighted to accept the award, it was an absolute honour to receive recognition for the work that I do but it also defines the journey I have made over the last forty something years…from Creative Child to Creative Teen and now, Creative Woman.”
