Visit the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean

Places to stay, things to do, good food and drink

#SweetTalking competition closed for judging

One lucky person will receive a year’s supply of sweets thanks to the #SweetTalking competition created by Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism and independent sweet shop, Tudor Sweets.

The #SweetTalking competition which ran throughout August, invited people, locals and visitors alike to suggest a flavour to represent the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. The competition had a great response with a huge number of entries received. The fantastic suggestions included interesting and mouth-watering flavours such as Wild Boar & Mint, Elderflower, Honey, Cider and traditional Forest Berries.

The competition closed on 31st August and the winning flavour is now being deliberated by the judges. The winning entry will be converted into hard-boiled sweets commissioned by Tudor Sweets.

The competition prize is certainly for those with a sweet tooth as it includes 100g of their choice of sweets every week for a year! The winner will also receive a weekend for two at The Chase Hotel in Ross-on-Wye, and a family ticket to the Forest Showcase Food & Drink Festival. The winner will be announced at the Forest Showcase event on 2nd October 2016, so don’t forget to book your tickets to the Forest Showcase event and see the winning flavour of the Dean Wye revealed!
