Pop-up Opera is an innovative professional touring opera company dedicated to making opera enjoyable and inviting without losing the quality of musical performance. They broaden the appeal of opera and challenge the way it’s traditionally performed by taking it into unusual spaces and making it fun, fresh and intimate.
Come along to Hillside Brewery on the 8th October and enjoy the performance of ‘Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia’ (The Barber of Seville). Experience opera like you’ve never seen before, as Pop-Up Opera take to the stage with this incredibly fast-paced comical face in their adaptation of this much loved score. Witness razor-sharp timing as the ever resourceful barber, Figaro, tries to help the young Count Almaviva win the hand of the beautiful Rosina out of love rather than for his wealth. Soon the pair set about to produce many disguises for the count, and thus the farce ensues…!
Doors open at 6.30 pm and you’ll receive a free drink of your choice on arrival, plus the bar will be serving our excellent Hillside Brewery beers (that are produced on site) throughout the evening!
The performance will begin at 7.30pm, finishing around 9.25pm with a 20-minute interval midway.
If you fancy making the most of it and staying the night, we have plenty of space available for you to pitch a tent if you would like? There are both onsite toilets and showers available.
Early Bird Tickets are £20 but are only available for a limited period.
