Coleford Festival of Words celebrates 10 years with a wide range of things to enjoy, things to take part in all exploring how words tangle us up and amaze us. The theme is reading which will be explored through a programme in and around the town of public readings- new writing will be part of an open competition to be judged by Prize winning local author Andrew Taylor- something for every one at some time or other….Enter your quiz team and come along to the Taste n Tales USA where food and Charlie Marwick’s stories compete.

Actor Commedian Miles Jupp will intorduce his new novel ‘Egg and Soldiers’, Performance Poet Hollie Mcnish recently awarded the prestigious Ted Hughes Prize for her work and part of a UK tour , chart topping  Novelist Andrew Taylor,  and Crime specialist M.R.Hall bring a glamour and spice to local activity that offers a woven, spun, goal mouth, spiders web of words…

A full week programme 3-9th |July working toward  Saturday 8th July full of stuff including a family storywalk, Youth Slam and  a screening of the HOOF film local history captured and reflected on, and on Sunday 9th July an event  to commemorate the 800th year of the Charter that recognised the Forest of Dean- at Hopewell Colliery- an afternoon with Warren James- remembering traditional Speeches day…
